Weight loss supplements
Anyone who watches TV in the afternoon or late at night
has seen ads for weight loss supplements. These products promise to
help you lose weight fast without a change in lifestyle. They have a
tremendous appeal, but scientists have some criticisms.
A number over herbal or dietary weight loss supplements tout claims
about increasing the numbers of calories burned and blocking me a dork
and of dietary fat. However, some of them have side effects or are relatively
safe but unlikely to cause weight loss according to the Mayo Clinic.
Some weight-loss supplements do in fact decrease appetite but there
is no conclusive evidence that they actually cause weight loss. However,
if this gives you motivation to exercise and change your diet, ask your
nutritionist if it can be part of your weight-loss plan. If you really
want to lose weight, you will need a lifestyle change that addresses
diet and exercise and you will want support from friends, family, and
physicians as you transform your body.
